Priming Eddie: Preparing for Paint
Prepped and primed the Eddie figure with Vallejo. Base colors start this weekend.

Surface Preparation and Priming
This week, I focused on priming the Eddie figure using Vallejo primers and an airbrush. Priming is often an overlooked stage, but it's crucial for ensuring that paint adheres smoothly, especially on a resin model like this one.
I opted for Vallejo's surface primers in black, grey, and white, mixed with their Flow Improver to ensure even application. The thinner consistency really helped in achieving a smooth coat without obscuring fine details.
Airbrushing Techniques
Using an airbrush was a game-changer in terms of control. I started with a black primer as a base to deepen the shadows, then misted over with grey and white in targeted areas to create subtle highlights. This pre-shadowing sets the stage for the next layers, allowing for more dynamic depth without laying it on thick.
Next Steps: Base Colors
With the priming done, the model is ready for base colors. My plan is to start the painting over the weekend. I'll focus initially on the larger surfaces, likely starting with Eddie’s uniform before moving onto smaller details like the insignia. The goal is to lay down vibrant base layers that will make the figure pop.
Stay tuned for more updates as I dive into the weekend's painting session, exploring how the layers build up to transform this model into a finished piece.
